The beginnings, part 2!

So, at this point (probably last months of 2019) we started to get super excited to do something like the Ultima series, focusing the game experience in the player being able to interact with ABSOLUTELY everything around him.

As you can see in this pic down here, we had everything planned for the game to include ability scores and dice rolling on it.

In previous image you can even see that a CRT screen filter was used to give that "nostalgic" effect to the game.
BUT ! Here's where everything gets complicated. Everything = Life, of course :)

I had to get a job again, full time, doing mostly night shifts, sleeping during the day, some data get lost NOBODYKNOWSWHY, pay rent, pay bills, blah blah blah.

Some couple of months passed by, yet I'm still doing some mockups, and trying to add more and more depth to the game. And that's how you BURNOUT. Within a few weeks of 2020, we had to split up (me and my brother, who was at the time helping me with the final game design), and I was now completly on my own, with a HUGE project on my hands. I was freaking out.

These are some of the last concepts I had planned, I even had a full map made in Tiled program. And this was the game final concept:

I INMEDIATLY felt in love with this concept, yet it was SOO difficult to implement at the time.

But now, I'm back on tracks.

The current art style (as you can see in the testing video) matches almost the same as the last posted image. I've expend a lot of time learning and practicing different pixel art and animation techniques to keep up with this style.

At the time, I'm still developing this game on my own, but recently I had the time to fix and re-arrange the project, to get it back on tracks.

I'll probably be posting some new implements and advances on the current game during this week. I've been able to keep the project organized using Notion (WHAT A WONDERFULL SOFTWARE), and if everything goes well, I'll have a big update for this weekend.

Hope you liked this mocks and a brief timeline of what happened to the project. Any support is appreciated :)

Keep on tuned !
